As a little girl, I always felt like I had the 'heart of a warrior.'
Whether it was outdoors playing games in our neighborhood, or at school, running races, and winning ribbons, it all invigorated me.
Later in life, it was the bullies at school or the injustice I saw in the world.
I wanted to push back the darkness, and see the light of God shine!
Let's start with some important questions, to help us on this Warrior journey!
What makes a Warrior?
How does one become a Warrior?
Who were the Warriors in the Bible?
Warrior is defined as, "a person engaged or experienced in warfare: in some struggle or conflict; war, or military life, a soldier, a champion.
(Merriam-Webster, Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary)
The Bible is filled with Warriors and their exploits, so beginning in the Old Testament:
Moses - "The Lord is a Warrior, the Lord is his name!" Exodus 15:3
Isaiah - The Lord will march forth like a mighty hero; He will come out like a Warrior, full of fury. He will shout his battle cry and crush all his enemies." Isaiah 42:13
Jeremiah - But the Lord is with me as a dread Warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten." Jeremiah 20:11
King David - "Through God, we will do valiantly, and it is He who will trample down our enemies!" Psalm 60:12
Joshua, by God's direction, marches around the Walls of Jericho, and they fall.
Gideon, a Mighty Man of Valor, delivers the Israelites.
These stories have become an arsenal in my life, as armor and weapons to fight against the enemy.
God has placed something extraordinary inside each one of us so we can fight and win on the battlefields of life!
